TikTok’s policies oblige content makers to identify lifelike artificially created content, and it prohibits harmful deepfakes of celebrities or crisis events. Any authentic-looking AI-generated clip that is without a tag can be removed under its community policies.

Additionally, the service will from now on add an artificially created label to content created with its own AI tools, or flagged by an collaborative effort for identifying AI-generated material. This step is aimed to deter users from seeking to circumvent the disclosure requirement.
