19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time coach Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
His retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to create a decider.
Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
